Jeff Kopas

Born in Toronto, Canada, Jeff Kopas is an award-winning filmmaker. He has been recognized throughout the industry and media in the last few years as one of Canada's most exciting emerging talents. Reviewed by every major publication, he has also been showcased on such shows as CBC's The National, E-Talk Daily, Entertainment Tonight Canada, and The Business News Network. Most recently, Jeff directed and co-produced the critically acclaimed dramatic feature film An Insignificant Harvey (www.aninsignificantharvey.com), which he also wrote. The film is executive produced by Oscar Winner Don Carmody (Chicago) and distributed in Canada by Kinosmith. It had an extended national theatrical release in Canada during the fall of 2011 and is now available on HBO, TMN, Movie Central, iTunes, and in DVD stores across the country. Shoreline Entertainment represents the film for worldwide distribution. Under his company Vitality Media Productions Inc. (created in 2004) he is developing a slate of internationally marketable feature projects, all in the thriller genre. The Bequest (www.thebequest.com), which Jeff is writing and will direct, is a psychological thriller that has gone through intense development with the Canadian National Screen Institute, and is slated for a fall 2013 production. It will be produced with Martin Katz (Cosmopolis, Dangerous Method, Hotel Rwanda). The Patron, a sexual thriller, is an Italian/Canadian co-production scheduled to be shot in January 2014. The Last Kabluna, an epic thriller based on the infamous Franklin Expedition, is a UK/Canadian co-production, and is slated for the summer of 2015. Jeff is also a proud co-founder of POV-Presenting Our Vision (www.POVFilm.org), a Toronto based film program that teaches at high risk youth film skills and then gets them paid internships within the industry, he now sits on the board of directors. He has lived on three continents, traveled extensively, and is an accomplished stone sculptor and photographer.
